One foot, two foot, Red foot, blue/grey/purple foot...

As many of you know, I love to update you on my many trips. This last one landed me with a broken foot. :) I was running, caught the inside of my foot on the curb, while turning badabing, badaboom. Broken foot. Not my favorite trip this year.

It has caused me to have a number of interesting ponderings. Since, honestly, I haven't been able to do a whole lot else while sitting on my couch, my parent's couch, and a number of other places. I am trying to do my best to remain optimistic in spite of losing not only my way of maintaining mental sanity (running) but my way of getting around (biking/bus/metro). I have ventured out on the bus, needless to say, nearly a mile on crutches is a bit of a work-out (for all you looking for a good upper-body work-out, highly recommend this one). I hate shoes anyway, and now I only have to wear one, so that is good.

I have been faced with a few serious struggles though. For example, I have the boot on my foot and don't really use a sock with that, do I still fold my socks in pairs? Or should my socks each embrace their singlehood? Why does our society demand they go in pairs? And, when packing to fly home, I only had on my packing list, 1) Tennis Shoe, 2) Teva, 3) Dress shoe. If my bag had been searched, they would have thought I had a peg leg. I contemplated throwing a few eye patches, a treasure map, and tattered clothes in the bag for kicks and giggles.

I have decided, this is clearly the way to take mass transportation. When boarding the bus, the driver yells, "I need a seat." And the closest able bodied person has to move. At the airport, I went from check-in to gate in less than ten minutes, my wheel chair driver put all my stuff on the scanner, jumped the entire line, and I didn't have to go through the full body scanner thing.

And, I get the joy of people accidently saying things like "Enjoy your break!" and "Have a nice trip." Then, watching them fumble while they try to recover from mis-speaking. All the while I laugh.

Just thought you all might need some humor as your summer comes to an end! Enjoy all the feet you have!

Cheers!

Unless you love gore, these pictures could traumatize you (most of these were already on facebook)...

    1. Barb!
I saw all the great photos on facebook, I believe it was. They always make me smile! I hope the auction and dinner go well! Is there a way to get on your mailing list, so I will know when the next event will be? I could then forward the stuff on to my few CO connections. :) Hope it is a great fundraiser!

  4. Your thoughts on letting your socks "embrace their singlehood" are awesomely hilarious. You have the best attitude on life!
